“New Learning” - in the digital age

The new way of learning is not always as easy as meets the eye. It can be challenging for both the teacher and the learner. That’s where this year’s Spring Seminar topic jumps in at the right time. Keyword: Learner Autonomy.

“New Learning” - in the digital age

What does the world of learning and teaching look like in the age of digitalisation?  How can we benefit from this development and yet not forget the needs of the individual? How can we empower the learner and give him/her more autonomy on the learning journey?

With the present situation of learning and teaching remotely, we are experiencing many challenges.  Digitalisation shapes the present and will shape the future.  The benefit we can gain from it by using the available digital tools is what we will look at together.  Classic structures of teaching and learning are being replaced by new ways which support the demand for more learner autonomy.

This means that teachers need to know how to empower and motivate their learners to become independent in their learning. This and many more avenues of this topic will be explored together.  After having attended this seminar you will have received many ideas and will be excited to try them out.

  • How do we motivate students to want to learn independently?
  • Which traditional and which online resources are available to help us guide them and encourage them on their road to becoming a more independent learner?

Come and join us for our first online Spring Seminar 5-6 March 2021.
