The plenary sessions of this years’ Spring Seminar will be focused on the future. What makes using tech “worth it”? With so many apps and online gadgets available, it is increasingly important to make informed decisions about which ones to use and why (or why not). The language learning field has seen many technological innovations in recent years; however, these have primarily focused on language learning rather than language assessment. The topic of this years’ Annual Cambridge English Spring Seminar 2019 will be looking into digital tools that you can use in your exam preparation classes. We will be working with tools that are practical, user-friendly and that will give you confidence to work with technology in your classroom. There is an increasing number of digital tools available and therefore it is often difficult to make the correct choice. By showing you various tools and evaluating their usefulness for the teaching of the skills required for the exams, you will be able to choose what is best suited for your situation. By using these tools in the classroom, you will be able to inspire your learners with technology for language learning.
It will be a hands-on seminar which will give you opportunities to try out the tools presented and ask questions while you are working. There are interesting digital tools available for the teaching of vocabulary, grammar, writing and for practicing speaking. We will be looking at the same core tools in all workshops adjusted to the exam level you have chosen, followed by each presenter working with his / her own suggestions.
