A second chance for success
What if your student prepares thoroughly for the Linguaskilll exam but narrowly misses their target score? Or, what if they can't attend the exam due to illness or an accident? Normally, this would lead to frustration, but with the Swiss Exams’ ERO, students have a second chance to re-sit their exam without paying the full price again.
When can candidates use the ERO?
Schools and students can take advantage of the ERO in these cases:
- If a student misses their target score by 3 points or less.
- If they are affected by illness or accidents.
- If there’s a transportation failure (e.g., car or public transport) on exam day.
- In the unfortunate case of a death in the family.
No catch – Just peace of mind
The ERO is simple and hassle-free:
- It must be booked at the time of registration.
- It’s valid for up to 12 months from the original exam date.
Flexible for Linguaskill
For Linguaskill, students can retake individual modules if they booked the full exam. Keep in mind that the 3-point rule applies to the overall score, not individual modules. If a student booked only certain modules, they can only retake the same ones with the ERO.
Why this matters for schools
By offering this option to your students, you provide them with a safety net, reducing their stress and giving them the flexibility they need if something goes wrong. This enhances student success and strengthens the trust between your school and candidates. The ERO ensures that you’re offering more than just an exam—it’s a chance for success, even when things don’t go as planned.
