Cambridge Linguaskill @home is Now Bookable in Switzerland — What Schools and Institutions Need to Know
Cambridge Linguaskill Remote Proctored is now available through Swiss Exams. From 1 July 2026, schools, vocational institutions, and employers across Switzerland can register candidates for Linguaskill @home — the official Cambridge English test taken from home, work, or any location in Switzerland, without travelling to a test centre.
The certificate is identical. The Cambridge standard is identical. The only difference is where candidates sit it.
What is Cambridge Linguaskill @home?
Cambridge Linguaskill is a computer-adaptive, modular English proficiency test from Cambridge English, measuring CEFR levels B1 to C2. It is available in two versions:
- Linguaskill Business @home — for workplace English, vocational training, recruitment, and career advancement
- Linguaskill General @home — for academic progression, employability, and general English certification
Both versions assess Reading & Listening (combined, adaptive format), Writing, and Speaking. Candidates can sit individual skills or all three in one session, depending on what their programme or employer requires.
The @home format uses AI-assisted proctoring with post-test human review. Room and ID checks are carried out before the test begins. Results are delivered as a digital CEFR report within 3–5 working days, he same timeline as the in-centre format.
Same certificate. Same standard. Your choice of format.
Linguaskill @home and Linguaskill @centre are equally credible delivery formats of the same official Cambridge English test. Both are delivered under the same Cambridge standards of security, accuracy, reliability, and scoring.
The difference is the experience, not the value:
- @centre — on-site supervision, guided exam environment, structured session
- @home — no travel required, location flexibility, modern digital access
For institutions, this means you can offer your students or staff an official Cambridge English certificate and CEFR-linked result without the logistics of travelling to a test centre. For schools in alpine regions, mountain cantons, and where distance to a centre is a practical barrier, Linguaskill @home is a meaningful unlock, not a workaround.
Why this matters for institutions
Swiss Exams works with more than 800 schools and organisations across Switzerland as an authorised provider of Cambridge English, Linguaskill, IELTS, and Goethe exams. The addition of Linguaskill @home extends that reach without changing what the certificate means.
For vocational schools, language departments, HR teams, and language schools, the practical advantages are clear:
- No travel required — candidates test from any location in Switzerland
- Official Cambridge English certificate — recognised by schools, universities, and employers globally
- CEFR B1–C2 assessment — modular, adaptive, no fail grade
- Results in 3–5 working days — digital report including CEFR level and score
- AI-assisted proctoring — room checks, ID verification, and post-test human review
- Bookable from 1 July 2026 — via the Swiss Exams online registration system
Registration opens 1 July 2026. First sittings take place in Q3 2026.
What candidates need to take the test
For institutions coordinating remote sittings, the technical requirements are straightforward:
- A computer or laptop with webcam and microphone
- A quiet room with no interruptions
- A valid photo ID (passport or national ID card)
- A stable internet connection (minimum 5–10 Mbps)
- A supported browser: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Microsoft Edge on Windows; Google Chrome only on macOS
Swiss Exams provides candidate guidance for the remote journey, including technical support — so your students and staff are not navigating the process alone.
