Starting the day with purpose and good coffee!
My day begins early with a comforting cup of coffee at home, setting a positive tone for the busy hours ahead. You know that feeling when you can't function without that special kick of energy? Well, that's what coffee does for me :)
After getting both my son and myself ready, I drop him off at kindergarten and then head to the office to officially start my workday.
Top of priority list: Partner schools’ requests
The first thing I do is check my emails. It’s important for me to address any urgent messages straight away so I can stay on top of tasks and maintain clear communication with our Partners. So, if you are registering your students for the exam, asking for more seats or changing an exam day, or checking if your students have registered successfully, these tasks are usually at the top of my priorities.
Once my inbox is under control, I dive into meetings. I have regular internal meetings, as it is always good to align all activities, e.g. regarding adding more exam dates or organising teacher webinars. It is always a good opportunity to have a quick small talk with my colleagues :) I`m in daily contact with all other departments: Exam Operations, Marketing, Finance and my colleagues from Customer Service.
The highlight of my day is connecting with our Partner schools across Switzerland online. I know we mainly meet online, but I still enjoy this contact and seeing you “face to face”. I also really like introducing Swiss Exams Access to new schools. This platform provides important information and an overview of all candidate registrations and exam date reservations. In my opinion, it is a simple and efficient system! Easy and quick. And by the way, the positive responses I often receive after demonstrating its capabilities make my day.
Continuously enhancing your experience: Streamlining Swiss Exams Access and registration processes
Speaking about Swiss Exams Access – I don't only speak, I listen. This means that I try to collect all your feedback on this registration system of ours and discuss how to make Access better and more convenient for your use! This is a never-ending improvement story for our whole Swiss Exams team.
Usually, at the beginning of each week, I have a 1:1 catch up with my manager Melisa, to discuss my suggestions for system improvements and share all my thoughts about the upcoming days.
A significant part of my job involves collaborating with different departments to streamline processes and resolve any issues that arise. I also work closely with our Exam Operations Team, especially when it comes to checking if we can accommodate additional exam dates. This coordination ensures we can provide the best possible service to you.
Unlimited exam dates – A nice change for schools (and for me!)
Since the introduction of unlimited Cambridge computer-based exam dates, I’ve found my work to be even more engaging. Yes, of course, initially, I was curious about how this change would affect my role, but I’ve come to really appreciate the added complexity. Why? Because, after all, what’s better than satisfying the school requests and making you happy, right?
Receiving requests for additional exam dates and making them happen is just the way to go for me—it makes my day-to-day work feel more rewarding.
Linguaskill Business: A new exam bringing new opportunities
And on a daily basis, I am also working with another novelty at Swiss Exams – the new Linguaskill Business exam by Cambridge. It is tailored for businesses and educational institutions that require a flexible and reliable tool to assess English proficiency in a professional context.
Organising the first exam date for one of our key Partners was a nice experience. I was proud to manage the entire booking process, and I'm looking forward to overseeing the exam from beginning to end, ensuring everything runs smoothly. I can't wait to see the positive impact it will have - on you, our partner schools and on the candidates and their life goals.
Helping you = My daily reward
At the end of the day, my work is both fulfilling and dynamic. Whether I'm working on improving processes, solving problems, or enjoying a meal with my colleagues, I feel that all this creates a nice mix that leads to helping schools and their students.
I like the fact that my role challenges me and allows me to make a difference!
