The paper-based A2 Key Cambridge exam will be discontinued from June 2026. This change is due to a shift in preferences, as younger candidates increasingly reach the A2 level and choose the A2 Key for Schools. With fewer entries for the traditional exam, the demand has decreased. Additionally, the digital format is gaining popularity for its quick results, flexibility, and enhanced security.

The British Council and Swiss Exams broaden their partnership to deliver IELTS in Switzerland
Since 2019 Swiss Exams has delivered IELTS exams in selected locations across Switzerland on behalf of the British Council. From September 2022 onwards, British Council will move to a remote delivery model, without an office in Switzerland but using Swiss Exams to deliver all IELTS tests for the British Council in the country.

Preparation centres can access group performance reports which show how students performed by skill, by grade, by Cambridge English Scale score and to compare performance by year and against national and global averages. Preparation Centres can also see reports for their internal candidates. The reports cover all Cambridge English Qualifications from Starters to Proficiency and Business Certificates.
